Lord Fairfax EMS Council Mission Statement
The mission of the Lord Fairfax EMS Council is to promote a regional community-based emergency medical services (EMS) network that reduces premature death and disability from acute illness and injury through the coordination of local EMS resources. Our mission will be accomplished through teamwork, dedication, customer friendly staff, quality training, and by efficient and cost-effective operations.

Council Board Elects New Officers & Members

On Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at its most recent meeting, the Lord Fairfax EMS Council's Board of Directors voted in its slate of Board members representing its six jurisdictions for the current fiscal year. New Board members were also elected including Wade Wilson and Carolyn Trent representing Clarke County and Bill Streett representing Shenandoah County. Current officers remained the same as the previous year with Kevin Catlett, representing Warren County, being voted on to the Executive Committee. Virginia EMS Symposium

Registration is now open for the 39th Annual Virginia EMS Symposium. This year's symposium will feature over 380 classes at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott November 7-11, 2018. We hope that you can take advantage of this wonderful educational opportunity.

Got a smart phone? The Council now has a new app for the regional protocols that's live & available for all iOS and Android devices! You should be able to find it with just a search of "Lord Fairfax EMS Council". Please let us know how you like it & if there's any suggested changes or additions. In the coming weeks look for more additions such as upcoming training opportunities! 

Council Presents Annual Awards

megan lecompteOn Wednesday, June 20, 2018 the Council presented its annual Regional EMS Awards at Joe's Steakhouse in Front Royal, VA. These winners will go on to compete for the state awards later this Fall. The winner of this year's $1,000 scholarship for Outstanding Contribution to EMS by a High School Senior was presented to Meghan LeCompte, a volunteer with Warren County Fire & Rescue Department. Meghan is planning to attend ECPI University this fall and wants to get her RN and Paramedic! More


 

New Regional Field Coordinator Announced

don goffThe Council is pleased to announce the addition of a new Regional Field Coordinator. Donald Goff brings over 27 years of experience in EMS as a NREMT-Paramedic and Firefighter and worked for large departments such as Fairfax and Stafford County. He's also an AHA BLS instructor and in his spare time, he's a Board certified Hypnotist. Don lives in Winchester with his wife and three sons and will begin his tenure on July 9, 2018. 


 

Council Announces New EMS Systems Coordinator

john petrieThe Council is pleased to announce the addition of John Petrie to the staff as the new EMS Systems Coordinator. John retired from Prince William County Fire & Rescue as Battalion Chief and Paramedic. John holds a wide variety of certifications & licenses including Instructor III & Officer IV from the VA Department of Fire Programs. He received his Master of Arts in Disaster & Emergency Management from American Public University in 2010. John will begin his tenure on June 1, 2018.
