Evaluator Training & Testing Standards Print

The Virginia Office of EMS has just released the new CTS Evaluator training program to the Regional EMS Councils. Any interested provider that would like to become an EMT-Basic Evaluator must complete the new program. There is both an on-line session and a practical session. Both parts must be completed in order to become an evaluator. When you complete the on-line portion, you will print off a completion certificate and bring that to the practical session. You will not be allowed to participate in the practical session without the certificate from the on-line portion. The target date for completion is September 1, 2009.

The Lord Fairfax EMS Council will begin the new testing with our October test site and we will be using the September CTS for retesting ONLY under the old standard.

Below you will find the instructions to complete the online program and a list of the various dates available in our region to attend the practical session.

Beginning Sept. 1st under the new testing standards, anyone that is used as a victim or as an EMT assistant MUST be certified as an EMT-Basic or higher. EMT students will no longer be allowed to act as victims. If you know of any EMT-B or higher that would like to be on the list as a victim or assistant, please have them contact Pat Pope, Regional Field Coordinator at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
